January 6th, 2008
OK...so it's been a spell between entries, and this one comes after the first week of January. The heavenly chaos of the holidays has past, and now it's back to work!
December was an odd month. It's difficult for me to say whether it was productive or idle (in terms of my writing); for it was both. On one hand, I was unable to accomplish all of my writing goals for December. I managed to almost finsh the finalization of my short story, Dead Asphalt, for submission to Amazon Shorts. And I made an attempt to finish writing A Cub's Tail. On the other hand, my holiday tale of terror, I'll Be Home For Christmas, made its debut in The Open Vein e-zine. To my surprise, the short story managed to receive more buzz then I anticipated. In fact, it has been nominated for the P & E (Preditors and Editors) 2007 Reader's Poll for Best Short Story in Horror 2007 (You'll read about this in an upcoming entry). I was utterly shocked when I discovered this. It somehow justified my lack of writing accomplishments for December. Nonetheless, whether I blame the business of Holiday gatherings with friends and family or chock it up to my own shortcomings, the lacking of reaching December's goals will surely make for a very busy January.
That being said, I've taken alot of projects into consideration (writing and writing-related). After prioritizing the projects that have been sitting on the proverbial back-burner for a bit too long, I have created my list of writing goals for January. They are as follows:
1) Finalization of Dead Asphalt (short story) and submission to Amazon Shorts
2) Finish, edit and finalize A Cub's Tail (short story) and submission to Velvet Mafia
3) Finalization of Jailed (short story) and submission to Amazon Shorts or The Open Vein
4) Finalization of Being Human (short story) and decide on publication to submit to
5) Revamp new official website
6) Finalize press releases for upcoming release of Nightfall
You can expect many entries following in the coming days and weeks, as I will be very productive with all of these projects.
